This year, we proudly chose SUDEP Action as our charity of the year, which is a cause that holds deep personal significance for our team and resonates with our expertise in neurological imaging.
Why SUDEP Action Matters to Us
Each year, Probo Medical chooses a charity to support through employee-led initiatives and events. Our commitment to epilepsy-related causes runs deep, having previously donated diagnostic imaging equipment to epilepsy research in London. Probo Medical understands the critical role imaging plays in diagnosing and managing neurological conditions, including epilepsy. Our partnerships with leading innovators such as IRadimed, specialists in MRI-compatible monitoring and safety products, reinforce our dedication to improving patient care and safety in complex imaging environments.
This year’s efforts were especially meaningful for Leon Parsons, our Global Head of Radiology, whose family has been directly affected by SUDEP. Having personally contributed by donating a contrast injector and MRI monitor from his previous company, Future Medical, Leon has also more recently supplied an IRadimed monitor from Probo Medical.
Going the Extra Mile to Fundraise
Throughout the year, our team embraced a range of fundraising activities, including the ambitious ‘Around the World’ challenge. We have also held events such as quiz nights and bake-offs to encourage employee participation and raise further funds for the charity. During the ‘Around the World’ challenge, employees collectively logged more than 51,000 km through walking, running, and cycling over the course of nine months. In October, during our European conference, we hosted a charity walk around the Cotswold Waterpark Lake to make a final push toward our distance goal. We were honoured to welcome Tanya Russell, representing SUDEP Action and sister to Leon Parsons, who shared her story following the tragic loss of her daughter Johdi to SUDEP.
Continuing the Mission
Our fundraising efforts continue into December and throughout the festive season as we remain committed to raising awareness and support for this vital cause. Looking ahead, Probo Medical will continue to advance our radiology equipment portfolio and strengthen partnerships with leading innovators such as IRadimed to deliver safer, smarter imaging solutions for the future.
