Market leaders in imaging equipment sales and service, Probo Medical, recently had the opportunity to work at the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. Following preparation and testing, we were asked to set up and install the Iradimed MRI Patient Monitor in the Radiology Department for use alongside a brand-new magnet.  Probo Medical Procurement expert Dani Langson was working alongside Senior Technician John Itter from the Medical Device Management Services team at Salisbury, to implement the equipment.

John described the system and how it is performing within the Hospital “It was a nice team at Probo who helped us with the trial and installation of the two monitor systems. Dani was very supportive and gave both the Medical Devices team. The users very informed knowledge of operating the device and how it functioned. She also made it clear that she was very happy to further attend site to provide any help or training. The device itself is very straight forward to use, robust and very modern in its design. The installation took minutes and went ahead without any problems, this made the transition from our previous model easier for the staff to work with.  Above all it provides excellent point of care diagnostics for our patients. I am rarely called to any problems which makes my work life much better during these busy and difficult times.  Rolling out a new system is difficult at the best of times, let alone during the middle of a global pandemic.  My many thanks to everyone who worked on this installation and delivery for us, and especially to Dani who has an excellent amount of knowledge of the device as well as the wider imaging/MRI field of work.”

The non-magnetic ‘point of care’ MRI monitoring system is portable and engineered to meet the needs of today’s complex MRI workflow. The vital signs monitor can be mounted anywhere: wall, roll-stand, bed rail, or anaesthesia cart and can quickly be detached and transported safely from bedside through to the MRI scan for immediate mobility. The NHS Trust were keen to have two systems to support their clinical requirements throughout the MRI care cycle. The non-magnetic design allows the monitor to operate safely in ultra-high magnetic fields.
